2010 National & Eastern Regional Specialties
Welcome,
everyone, to the 2010 National and Eastern Specialties! This year’s
National and Eastern competitions will be held in East Falmouth,
Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. You are definitely in the east here! The
Cape is famous for its breathtaking coastlines, windmills, seafood,
“chowda”, lighthouses, beaches and all things nautical. Specialty
events will take place in conjunction with the Cranberry Cluster
(Cape Cod KC and South Shore KC) – four days of all-breed shows from
September 16th through September 19th, 2010, with the National Lure
Coursing on September 20th.
There will be 2 Supported
Entry days and 2 Specialties (National and Eastern), which is
slightly different from the past few years. The National Committee
is being helped by P.H.O.N.E. (Pharaoh Hound Owners of the
Northeast), who will support one of the conformation events, and
will also host a LGRA trial. Many exciting events and activities are
planned for this dual specialty, and are highlighted below. Please
continue to check the PHCA website for updates.

Trophies and Prizes
This year, we would like
to present trophies which highlight local Cape Cod artists,
including our own Darleen Dimor.
-
Pairpoint Glass
Company of Sagamore is the oldest glass company in America
(founded in 1837). They will be creating the National trophies.
-
Kemp Pottery of
Orleans, owned by Steven and Matt Kemp, will be creating the
Eastern trophies. The pottery is handcrafted out of Stoneware
clay that contains Nauset Beach sand. Winning one of these
trophies is like winning a piece of Cape Cod real estate!
-
Darleen Dimor is
creating the Supported entry trophies for the first day…the rest
is a surprise! She also created the
National/Eastern logo!
-
Kathy Wamsley is
creating a quilt for the triathlon winner.
-
Rebecca Stephens and
Marie Luck are commissioning a quilt to raise funds to subsidize
the CHIC program.
