2011 PHCA National Video
The 2011 PHCA National was video recorded at Canfield. Judges Barbara Alderman and Sari Brewster Tietjen both worked well with the videographer to get the best views on profile, and the over and backs. And, the weather held - no rain! The PHCA offers a three tier awards system which is retroactive back to AKC breed recognition in 1984. Three different levels of awards will be available including Dual Certificate, Versatility Certificates, and Registers of Merit. The dual and versatility certificates are awards for individual dog performance while the Register of Merit (ROM) are awards to recognize outstanding dams and sires through the accomplishments of their get. To qualify for any PHCA award the dog must be owned or co-owned by a PHCA member.

Copies of title certificates or a copy of AKC award verification must be mailed to the PHCA awards chairman in order to verify all qualifications, including documentation of sire or dam for ROM awards. All awards will be updated annually in conjunction with the annual meeting.

Following are the specific qualifications required for each level of the awards:

A title must be obtained by an individual Pharaoh Hound in at least two of the following fields:

Conformation
Obedience or Rally or Flyball
Field (Coursing or Racing)
Agility
Tracking

Only the following titles will be considered toward this award:

AKC CD, CDX, UD	AKC FC, MC, LCX
AKC TD, TDX	AKC RN, RA, RE, RAE
AKC/NADAC/USDAA NA, NAJ, OA, OAJ, AX, AXJ, MX, MXJ
NOFCA CM, CC	LGRA GRC, SGRC
NOTRA ORC, SORC	Flyball FDX, FDCh, FDCH-G

A title must be obtained by an individual Pharaoh Hound in THREE of the following fields:

Conformation
Obedience or Rally or Flyball
Field (Coursing or Racing)

Tracking

Only the following titles will be considered toward VERSATILITY DOG award:

AKC CH	AKC/NADAC/USDAA NA or NAJ
AKC CD or RN or FDX	AKC FC or ASFA FCh, or NOFCA CM, or NOTRA ORC, or LGRA SGRC
AKC TD

VERSATILITY DOG EXCELLENT

award and the dog must have completed the qualifications for Versatility Dog with advanced accomplishments in AT LEAST TWO of the categories:


	Conformation	AKC CH and GROUP PLACEMENT, or SBOB;

	Obedience, Rally, or Flyball	AKC CDX, UD or AKC RA, RE, RAE or FDCh, FDCh-G

	Agility	AKC/NADAC/USDAA OA, OAJ, AX, AXJ, MX, or MXJ;

	Coursing or Racing	ASFA LCM, BIF or AKC MC, LCX, BIF or NOFCA CC, or NOTRA SORC, or LGRA SGRC

	Tracking	AKC TDX

AKC, ASFA, ATTS, NOFCA, NADAC, USDAA, NOTRA, LGRA and flyball titles will be eligible. We will consider comparable foreign titles for get on an individual basis, please submit these to the awards chairman for consideration.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

ROM Sire	Minimum of 125 pts. including producing at least 6 CH’s, 1 OB or Agility, 4 Field CH (AKC or ASFA), and OFA certification of fair or better.*
ROM Dam	Minimum of 100 pts. including producing at least 4 CH’s, 1 OB or Agility, 3 Field CH (AKC or ASFA), and OFA certification of fair or better.*
ROMX Sire	Minimum of 250 pts. including producing at least 10 CH’s, 4 OB or Agility, 7 Field CH (AKC or ASFA), and OFA certification of fair or better.*
ROMX Dam	Minimum of 200 pts. including producing at least 7 CH’s, 2 OB or Agility, 5 Field CH(AKC or ASFA), and OFA certification of fair or better.*

Note: The required number of titles in an area must have been obtained by individual dogs. For example, 4 field champions must be 4 different dogs not a dog with a FCh and LCM counted as two. Also, a dog is only eligible to contribute points at the highest title earned. For example, Dog xyz, CDX would be counted as 10 points, not 5 points for CD and another 10 of CDX.

* OFA certification will be waved for all candidates born prior to January 1, 1990 in order to provide timely notice of this requirement for all eligible dams and sires.
