Breeder Referral

For the name of a breeder currently on the PHCA approved breeders list contact:  Rita Laventhall-Sacks, PO Box 895454, Leesburg, FL 34789-5454, 352-357-8723.

Breeders that are members in good standing with the PHCA should contact Mrs. Sacks for inclusion in the approved breeders list.  You must adhere to the PHCA Code of Ethics in your breeding practices, permanently identify all puppies before they leave your home, and provide the rescue committee (Ms. Haig) with the identification numbers for each puppy.

Breed Education

The PHCA has a very comprehensive education program in place, chaired by Mrs. Rita Laventhall-Sacks.  There is a detailed Illustrated Judge's Guide available upon request.  If your club is planning an educational seminar in the future and would like to include the Pharaoh Hound, Mrs. Sacks can help locate a qualified spokesperson for the breed.

Health Committee

Although free from most genetic problems common to many breeds, the PHCA, in an effort to assure continued good health, participates in the AKC Health Foundation studies and sends a representative to their seminars and meetings.  For information on the health committee contact chairperson, Stephen Sipperly at SSipperly@aol.com, (518) 767-9816.

The Pharaohs Scribe

The "Scribe" is the official newsletter of the Pharaoh Hound Club of America, Inc. and is published on a quarterly basis.  It contains news of interest about Pharaoh Hound activities around the world and on the home front.  It contains feature articles, event information, statistics, letters to the editor and other items of interest to the Pharaoh Hound community.  The Scribe is not available by subscription; it is sent to PHCA members each quarter.  Editor is Pam Haig, miapharaoh@earthlink.net, (865) 687-0145.
